Finished weaving a carrying strap called a tumpline or burden strap. It’s made out of hemp cord, and I used a unique weaving technique called twined warp. I twisted 20 cords in pairs of 2 into 10 cords that were 22″ long. Then I “sewed” a thin cord back and forth through each twist. The tie straps at each end are braided and 11′ long.

Random personal thoughts;
This week has been physically challenging with my crohns disease. I was in the ER 2 nights ago because of severe abdominal pain. It felt like a porcupine was wondering through my lower anatomy. Thankfully it’s only major inflammation.
